The AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Program, which according to the American Kennel Club’s website, is an exciting new program designed to get dog owners and their puppies off to a good start. The AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Program is an incentive program for loving dog owners who have taken the time to take their puppies through a basic training class. By the way, S.T.A.R. stands for Socialization, Training, Activity & Responsibility. Karma received in today’s mail her own medal and certificate, recording her completion of the program by the AKC. Thanks, Amaris Hess Garneau of Applause Your Paws, for all your hard work during Karma’s puppy obedience & manners program with you!
Today, I received a last minute call from a friend looking for a large dog for a photo shoot. Immediately, I thought Orso would be perfect but when I got around to speaking in detail with the photographer, Joe Montezinos, we realized that Orso was not going to be a good fit for the photo shoot. Instead, Mouse turned out to be a perfect fit! Joe was looking for an elegant, refined dog and Mouse fits that description, so I loaded Mouse into the Jeep and headed out to downtown Miami for a fashion photo shoot with model Anouk Baijings for international fashion magazine, Donna. We were there for a couple of hours working and Mouse did pretty well. He was nervous and skittish, like he usually is around strange people and noisy situations, but he got along great with Anouk, the model, and a few guys on Joe’s team. Below are the 3 photos that will be run in Donna magazine with Mouse in them! Below that are a couple of photos that I took of Mouse with Anouk, the model. I also included a couple of video clips of Mouse on set. Enjoy! During this morning’s group Rally obedience class at Paws in Motion, I decided to let Orso try out an A-frame that was off to one side of the training facility. For our followers who don’t know what an A-frame is, it’s the largest of the obstacles used in every competitive dog agility level, by all the agility organizations, as well as for K9 police training. It is also called a Scaling Wall. Orso only has climbed an A-frame once, and it was as a very young pup in an obstacle course at a dog show. It was very small and nothing like this one, which I estimate is about 4 ½ feet tall. He loved it! He wasn’t scared to do it at all! Orso has such an amazing temperament; he is so confident and willing to try new things! Below is a short video compilation of Orso going over the A-frame 5 times, enjoy! Today’s mail brought Orso’s Canine Eye Registration Foundation (CERF) certificate showing that he is free from any inheritable eye disease! With the receipt of this certificate, Orso’s health testing is officially complete and we are proud to announce that Orso is a very healthy Cane Corso with excellent genetics! Below is a list of all of the health testing that Orso has gone through and his CERF certificate! Additional testing and certificates:
OFA Normal Heart OFA Normal Patellas OFA Normal Elbows (Preliminary at 16 Months) PennHIP 70th Percentile (Top 30% of Cane Corso Breed 0.55/0.55) I love stumbling on photos! These pictures were taken at the beginning of November, probably on the 4th, when I took Orso to Orlando with me. I never allow Orso on my bed at home, so traveling is always fun for him since he gets his own hotel bed to sleep on! Here are some photos of Orso giving me some Corso love and kisses, enjoy!
